Being actively involved in the NACS State of the Industry Report, I have become acutely aware of the challenges we retailers face in staying a step  or two ahead of our customers’ expectations.

Yes, my customers’ expectations. I know we talk a lot about competition and what larger-footprint chains with deeper pockets can do. Surprisingly, I  find myself less worried about what giants such as Target and Wal-Mart are doing than I am about catering to the customers that patronize—or could patronize—our 24 Parker stores in southeast Georgia.
