My Goods Market (formerly Pacific Convenience & Fuels LLC or PC&F) became one of the industry's largest privately owned chains when it acquired hundreds of retail locations in 2008 from ConocoPhillips and became a Circle K licensee. After five years, as of January 2014, the chain ended its affiliation with Circle K’s parent company, Alimentation Couche-Tard, and is rebranding stores under the name My Goods Market. The company also changed its corporate name to My Goods Market (MGM) and plans to add another 50 stores in the coming year.

As part of the transition away from Circle K, new prototype stores were opened in California and Colorado under the new brand and were used to test new concepts. Implementation of the rebranding and changes are expected to be completed by the end of first quarter 2014. The company is moving to differentiate itself by making changes in product and presentation to appeal to a wider audience, especially those in their 20s and 30s and women. That means more fresh foods and more choices for customers. The company typically focuses on metropolitan markets with high barriers to entry and strong margin opportunities.
