Whitehead Oil implements PerformanceRetail solution

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Whitehead Oil Co. has selected web-based retail intelligence software provider PerformanceRetail Inc.'s InSite Retail Intelligence Suite for implementation across the retail chain.

Whitehead Oil, the owner and operator of the U-Stop Convenience Shops, is deploying the InSite software with a focus on loss prevention, market basket analysis and category management.

We selected the PerformanceRetail InSite Retail Intelligence Suite because of our need for timely information that we can act upon to increase sales [image-nocss] and reduce shrink, said Mark Whitehead, president of Lincoln, Neb.-based Whitehead Oil. With increased visibility into cashier performance, item movement and market basket analytics, we expect to see trends we've suspected were there but could never before access to make the decisions we need to improve our business.

The InSite solution from Austin, Texas-based PerformanceRetail, which the company said is the convenience retail industry's only hosted retail intelligence software offering, is designed to easily integrate with customer-installed legacy backoffice, pricebook and point-of-sale (POS) systems and provide users of those systems with new levels of business visibility. InSite delivers packaged reporting and analytics for loss prevention, sales and operations improvement and category management, enabling retailers to quickly identify issues and take proactive steps to improve revenues, margins and streamline store operations. Delivered as a secure service over the Internet, InSite can be deployed at the retailer's pacesimplifying implementation, reducing risk and protecting the retailer's past technology investments.

Whitehead Oil has become a major marketer of retail petroleum products in Southeast Nebraska by creating a diversified approach to gasoline retailing. It operates or supplies more than 30 retail locations in and around the Lincoln market under the U-Stop flag and features the Phillips 66 petroleum products and image.
