Retailers Reach Pinnacle

Dari Mart, Tedeschi, Double Quick, Lee-Moore, Quality Oil recognized for excellence, innovation collaboration
ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Pinnacle Corp. has announced the winners of the 2005 Pinnacle Awards. Pinnacle Award winners were honored during Pinnacle's annual Summit, where clients gathered in Nashville, Tenn., for a two-day conference featuring general sessions, breakouts and special interest groups.
Dari Mart Stores Inc. was honored for General Excellence. This company aggressively pursues excellence in technology and commits the resources needed, Pinnacle said. At this year's Summit, Dari Mart participated in a panel presentation on the practices used [image-nocss] to implement a highly successful rollout of Pinnacle's Palm POS point-of-sale system.
A Pinnacle client since 1996, Junction City, Ore.-based Dari Mart currently has 42 convenience stores and is known throughout upper western United States for fresh dairy products.

Tedeschi Food Shops was also a recipient of a General Excellence award. Tedeschi has embraced technology and completed a replacement of PDI systems with Pinnacle in its acquired Store 24 locations in a very aggressive time frame without compromising service at the store level, Pinnacle said.
Our ultimate objective was to standardize our store level systems with one vendor with one integrated solution, and we were able to accomplish this task by partnering with Pinnacle, said Jack McLaughlin, director of information systems for Tedeschi. We took a three-phase approachreplaced the point-of-sale with Palm POS, replaced the backoffice software with Windows-based Oasis Manager Workstation and converted the host to Retail Manager interfacing with Microsoft Great Plains.
Rockland, Mass.-based Tedeschi currently operates more than 210 c-stores in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. It has been using Pinnacle technology since 1998.

Double Quick Inc., a Pinnacle client since 1993, was the winner of the Excellence in Innovation award. This company uses eight Pinnacle products and has expanded its reach through enhancements. During the Summit, Double Quick presented Innovation with Automation, a look at how Pinnacle's Palm POS and Oasis Manager Workstation can be customized to interface and integrate with other software and hardware providers.
Indianola, Miss.-based Double Quick currently operates 39 c-stores and 18 branded food concepts located in North Central Mississippi and Southeast Arkansas. Double Quick stores are known for their friendly customer service and ever expanding branded food service.

Lee-Moore Oil Co. took home the Excellence in Collaboration award. This company was the beta test site for Pinnacle's newest product Auditor, which is built on the Symphony Business Platform. Summit attendees were treated to a presentation by Lee-Moore that described the details of the beta test.
Sanford, N.C.-based Lee-Moore owns and operates a network of stores primarily branded On the Run. It is a Regional Franchise Developer for ExxonMobil's On the Run franchise. It also supplies branded gasoline to another 20 independently operated locations in central North Carolina. A Pinnacle client since 2001, this company is recognized as an innovator in making the c-store experience faster and more pleasant for customers, with clean, bright stores and friendly personnel.

A special recognition award was presented to Harry Alexander of Quality Oil Co. LLC for being Pinnacle's longest-standing client in attendance at the 2005 Summit, at 13 years. Quality Oil, Winston-Salem, N.C., operates about 30 Quality Marts, as well as Quality Plus Smoke Shoppes and hotels throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
