CARMI, Ill. -- Martin & Bayley Inc., the operator of Huck's Food & Fuel, has elected to implement TelaPoint Inc.'s TelaFuel Internet software to streamline and manage its fuel replenishment, buying and transportation scheduling processes.

Huck's is using TelaFuel, a browser-based application suite, to improve management of fuel marketing and transportation operations serving more than 150 retail locations.

With TelaFuel, Huck's will be electronically processing fuel orders and optimizing the scheduling of their transportation [image-nocss] fleet, resulting in lower costs, enhanced customer service, improved fleet utilization and greater administrative efficiency, the Louisville, Ky.-based TelaPoint said.

Our decision to implement TelaPoint's supply chain solution is a key component of our ongoing strategy to optimize efficiencies across our petroleum marketing and transportation operation, said Mark Bayley, Carmi, Ill.-based Huck's co-president. TelaFuel will help us significantly reduce the manual labor and paper needed to operate our fuel business.

TelaFuel is an Internet supply chain software solution that includes Smart Replenishment, Smart Buying and Smart Invoicing. It helps companies realize fewer communication errors with transportation partners, lower fuel inventory and replenishment costs, make better fuel purchasing and pricing decisions and streamline fuel invoice reconciliation, said the tech firm. All TelaPoint customers have secure access through browser-based software applications allowing for timely and accurate communication with their authorized trading partners, it added.

Martin & Bayley operates about 150 Huck's convenience stores and three travel centers in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Kentucky. The company is opening a commissary at its warehouse in Carmi, Illinois to supply sandwiches and other food items to all of its stores.
