ERI Hires Buker

New recruiting consultant has petroleum, c-store, retail industry experience

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. -- Energy Recruiters Inc. (ERI) has hired Mike Buker as an executive recruiting consultant, the company said.

Buker has worked for more than 18 years in the petroleum industry. His retail management experience began earlier in the retail drug industry with Drug Fair of Virginia, and he later moved into the restaurant industry with Pizza Hut.

He also spent several years working as a police officer in a Virginia Sheriff's Department.

Buker's convenience store experience began with Shore [image-nocss] Stop in 1986; he spent the next 12 years learning retail operations. In the 1990s, he went to work with 7-Eleven. He later accepted a consulting position with Cenex Petroleum, where he worked for several years. Most recently, Buker was the director of operations at a convenience store company in the Midwest.

Positions he has held include store manager, area manager, zone manager and director of operations. His experience includes all operational aspects of the c-store industry, including training, marketing, budgeting, site development and human resource management.

Bonita Springs, Fla.-based ERI is a recruiting and career placement firm for multiple industries. The origins of the company were in the petroleum industry, servicing clients engaged in refining and retail marketing activities. It broadened its scope to work with other industries such as convenience, tobacco, pharmaceutical, environmental, drug store, big-box retail and financial institutions.
