Wholesale Fuel Price Trends
In one of the deepest price drops in more than a year, and in a second week of across-the-board regional dips, branded wholesale petroleum prices declined a full 6 cents per gallon (CPG) during the week of Sept. 14, 2014, on average across the United States, hitting $2.612 CPG.
The deepest dip was in the Rockies, where prices fell as much as 14 CPG.
Wholesale diesel-fuel prices also dropped across the board for a second week in a row, bringing diesel prices to their lowest level--$2.818 CPG for branded diesel--in well over a year. Diesel prices are down 5.5 CPG nationally and as much as 9 CPG in the Rockies.
