Wholesale Fuel Price Trends
Wholesale fuel prices are out of rhythm. This week, regular-grade gasoline saw wholesale prices dip the most all year--as much as 19.7 cents per gallon (CPG) in the Southeast--putting regular-grade prices at their lowest level in well over a year, $2.396 on average across the United States. Premium-gasoline prices, however, grew in most regions, expanding the usual 20-cent split between regular and premium to more than 42 CPG, on average.
Wholesale diesel prices dipped for a fifth straight week across the board, by as much as 7.8 CPG in New England.
