Wholesale Fuel Price Trends
In a fifth week of dropping wholesale fuel prices, petroleum dipped 2.2 cents per gallon (CPG) on average during the week of Oct. 19, 2014, and 39.1 CPG since Sept. 21, 2014, according to OPIS data. Retailers selling unbranded gasoline were more likely to see increased wholesale prices, while branded prices jumped as much as 10 CPG in the Midwest and Rockies.
Wholesale diesel prices were more of a mixed bag, rising by as much as 11 CPG in the Midwest and dipping in the Southeasat by 2.5 CPG. On average nationwide, diesle prices rose 1.4 CPG.
