Wholesale Fuel Price Trends
Wholesale gasoline prices took a surprising dip going into the dog days of summer. Prices declined almost 10 cents per gallon (CPG) in the Great Lakes region and less than a penny per gallon in the Southeast.
The highest prices remain in the Rockies for the sixth week in a row, leading to expected lower Labor Day prices at the pump than last year.
Similarly, diesel wholesale prices dipped across the board, down almost 7 CPG in the Great Lakes and at least 1.9 CPG in all other regions, reaching the lowest levels in over a year in several regions.
