MONROE, La. -- Accounting software provider AIMS Inc. has announced a partnership with a renewable fuels identification number (RIN) firm as a way to add value to its services, the company said. Partnering with RINAlliance Inc., AIMS officials say the partnership will help customers with the buying, managing, tracking and selling of RINs.

"We believe this partnership will be a great resource tool for our petroleum-accounting software clients," said David Dorries, director of sales, marketing and client services for the Monroe, La.-based AIMS. "Our partnership with RINAlliance gives our clients a tool to help them satisfy regulatory compliance requirements and also participate in RIN trading created by the EPA."

"RINAlliance is proud to partner with AIMS who shares our vision of providing superior software solutions that are focused on helping petroleum marketers increase efficiency and profitability," said Dawn Carlson, president of RINAlliance.

Among the benefits are "data-integration opportunities that will further reduce the time and effort required to manage valuable RINS."

RINAlliance's web-based renewable fuel compliance program is open to qualified blenders and marketers registered under the EPA's Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS). The program provides assistance with EPA registrations, access to compliance experts, an online RIN tracking system, quarterly reporting, annual attestation and RIN quality assurance tools.

Monroe, La.-based AIMS develops and markets an accounting software solution called COMPAS Commander for the petroleum marketer; 16 process automation modules also interface directly with its Commander's Core System. In addition, AIMS has developed AutoTax, a standalone electronic tax-filing solution.

Urbandale, Iowa-based RINAlliance is a source for RIN management and guidance under the EPA's RFS regulations. These help renewable fuel blenders, importers, reformulators and marketing organizations satisfy regulatory compliance requirements.
