ALTOONA, Pa. -- Sheetz Inc., through its summer tour visiting several of its stores, is celebrating that employees voted their employer the third Best Place to Work in the state of North Carolina.
Sheetz currently ranks on the Best Places to Work list in Ohio and North Carolina and has been on that list in Pennsylvania for eight consecutive years.
Sheetz Prize Patrol is making stops in Winston-Salem, Mocksville, Mount Airy, Dobson, Kernersville, Walkertown, Yadkinville and King, N.C. Executive vice president of marketing Louie Sheetz, regional director Adam Sheetz and other Sheetz Planning Team members are travelling with the group to visit with the store teams.
They will hand out prizes, food and beverages to employees, and they will offer customers free coffee, fountain drinks, cookies and other special offers for the length of each store visit.
"Our people are the key to our success. Other company's may try and duplicate our offer or our store design but they can't duplicate our people," Stan Sheetz, president and CEO, said. "It is a great honor to know they enjoy coming to work so much every day that would vote for Sheetz as the best."
Store teams have been partying with their customers across the state at various locations for the last three weeks, with the goal of stopping at all 56 Sheetz stores across the state.
It is a way for Sheetz leadership to demonstrate appreciation for employees while building camaraderie throughout the entire North Carolina team.
Altoona, Pa.-based Sheetz, with more than $6 billion in revenue for 2012 and more than 15,000 employees, operates more than 450 convenience locations throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio and North Carolina.
