MODESTO, Calif. -- Lucky Supermarkets has announced that beginning August 22, consumers who shop at any of its greater Bay Area stores using their new Lucky Rewards Card can now earn discounts on fuel redeemable at participating Shell stations. Consumers can receive savings of 5 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents or more per gallon when redeeming Fuel Rewards savings.

The Lucky Rewards program is a free program through which consumers can earn Fuel Rewards savings by making qualified purchases at Lucky Supermarkets. The Lucky Rewards program is part of the Fuel Rewards Network, [image-nocss] allowing Lucky consumers to redeem Fuel Rewards savings at approximately 190 participating area Shell stations.

For every $50 in qualified purchases at Lucky using the new Lucky Rewards Card, a 5-cents-per-gallon discount on fuel is earned and redeemable on a single fillup, up to 20 gallons of fuel per purchase. Additionally, Fuel Rewards savings are cumulative--the more shoppers spend, the more they earn. For example, if a consumer spends $100, they will earn a 10-cents-per-gallon discount, if they spend $150, they earn a 15-cents-per-gallon discount, etc. Shoppers also do not have to spend $50 in one transaction. Purchases are automatically tracked and each time the $50 threshold is met, they earn another 5-cents-per-gallon discount.

Consumers can earn additional Fuel Rewards savings with 700 online merchants using the Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) Online Mall at www.fuelrewards.com. Earn 5 cents, 25 cents, 50 cents or more per gallon for every $50 spent online. The FRN program is operated by Excentus Corp., a retail marketing coalition specializing in fuel-based reward programs.

Consumers may redeem their Fuel Rewards savings at participating Shell stations by inserting their new Lucky Rewards Card at the pump, which will initiate the fuel savings. To maximize their Fuel Rewards savings, consumers who anticipate their fuel purchase may exceed $75 should present their new Lucky Rewards Card and pay inside. Fuel Rewards savings expire on the last day of the month immediately following the month they were earned.
