DALLAS -- The Fuel Rewards Network (FRN) program is launching the Great American Fuel Price Relief Tour in Jacksonville, Fla., in conjunction with Winn-Dixie.
By making purchases through participating FRN program retailers, restaurants, online merchants and grocers, such as Winn-Dixie and its flagship fuel loyalty program for Winn-Dixie Customer Reward Cardholders, FRN members can earn cents-per-gallon savings redeemable at participating Shell-branded stations across the country and other select fuel stations.
The Fuel Rewards Network program, which said it has saved Americans close to $100 million on fuel, will celebrate its one-year anniversary with community events throughout the Jacksonville area from June 18-22, 2013, to kick off the nationwide tour.
"The goal of our Fuel Rewards Network program is to reduce Americans' everyday fuel costs by turning their shopping power into savings power through an easy-to-use rewards program," said Dickson Perry, FRN program founder and CEO. "Through our partnership with Winn-Dixie, we're one step closer to helping consumers save $1 billion just by shopping the way they normally do."
As part of The Great American Fuel Price Relief Tour, these two brands will spread the savings message by inviting the residents of Jacksonville to events at Winn-Dixie grocery stores around the city throughout the week of June 18. Residents and Winn-Dixie customers can enjoy a fun day of activities and games that include "Spin to Save" wheels where participants can receive anywhere from five-to-20-cents-per-gallon fuel.
The tour kicked off with a private event at the Winn-Dixie corporate headquarters on June 18 that feature a $10,000 donation by FRN to the BI-LO Winn-Dixie Foundation.
Winn-Dixie is offering Floridians an opportunity to earn Fuel Rewards savings at their stores across the state by linking their Winn-Dixie Customer Reward Card to a Fuel Rewards Network Account.
The FRN program is owned and operated by Dallas-based Excentus Corp., the creator of and patent-holder for marketing programs and services that use price rolldown discounts at the pump as the consumer reward, it said. Excentus has spent more than 15 years developing and perfecting FRN's technology and features to make it easy for consumers to save money on fuel and convenient for businesses to build loyalty and create value for customers. FRN provides members with the opportunity to earn free fuel by purchasing the things they normally would from more than 1,400 retail locations, nearly 700 online merchants and more than 10,000 restaurants, and redeeming their rewards at participating fuel stations across the country. To date, Excentus has helped more than 10 million consumers save hundreds of millions of dollars on fuel. Excentus currently holds nine patents on the technology behind the cents per gallon model and licenses various uses of its patent portfolio to provide private-label fuel discount programs through its business unit, Centego II LLC.
Winn-Dixie is a subsidiary of Bi-Lo Holdings, which is the ninth-largest traditional supermarket chain in the United States.
