St. Germain to serve as senior manager at convenience group

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. -- Mark St. Germain was recently promoted to the role of senior manager at Sara Lee convenience group, beverages. St. Germain will be responsible for the West. Previously, St. Germain was a key account manager for Sara Lee. Jerry Morrow, Sara Lee's director of convenience groups, beverages, told CSP Daily News he looks forward to St. Germain delivering "enhanced teamwork and resources to our customers."
Meanwhile, account manager Fred Graham, who was also recently promoted to senior manager at Sara Lee convenience group, beverages, for the East, has left the company, Morrow [image-nocss] said.

Sara Lee Foodservice, part of Sara Lee Corp., provides beverage, meat and bakery solutions to a variety of away-from-home foodservice operators, including restaurants, convenience stores and retail establishments. Its portfolio of brands includes Douwe Egberts, Superior Coffee and Pickwick Tea, Sara Lee and Chef Pierre bakery products, and Sara Lee, Jimmy Dean, Ball Park and Hillshire Farm meats.

In fiscal year 2007, Sara Lee Foodservice recorded net sales of $2.2 billion.

Morrow said that at next week's NACS Show in Chicago, Sara Lee will be touting its new sugar-free cappuccino, as well as the 2.5-gallon, bag-in-box Caffiato iced coffee, made with Douwe Egberts Colombian coffee, fresh dairy and French vanilla or mocha flavorings.

In other company news, Sara Lee recently sold its sauces and dressings foodservice business to Richelieu Foods, Randolph, Mass. As part of the transaction, Richelieu acquired the sauces and dressings manufacturing facility located in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Richelieu will become a manufacturer for the Sara Lee Foodservice DSD Coffee network, which will continue to supply national restaurant and foodservice distribution customers with sauce and dressing products, including salad dressing, mayonnaise and barbeque sauce. Richelieu Foods is a manufacturer of dressing, sauces and frozen pizza focused primarily on private-label retail and foodservice customers. The company, with sales of approximately $200 million, is a store brand and contract packing manufacturer of frozen pizzas, salad dressing, sauces, marinades, condiments and deli salads.
