Porter Joins Insight Beverages as Director of National Sales

Longtime Royal Buying Group executive will lead efforts to expand c-store channel business

LAKE ZURICH, Ill. -- Sharon Porter, who has served as executive vice president of business development for the Royal Buying Group for 10 years, has taken a new position as director of national sales for Insight Beverages, effective Feb. 25.

Porter is an accomplished executive with exemplary sales, marketing and business development experience. She has a track record of increasing sales and profitability, with specific expertise in launching businesses and new channel solutions to generate revenue opportunities, Insight Beverages said.

"As director of national sales, Sharon will lead our organization in its efforts to expand our core convenience store business, distribution and national accounts. At Royal Buying Group, Porter led operations and strategic direction with full responsibility for bottom-line factors, including long-range planning, change management, sales management, high-level negotiations, channel positioning and marketing direction. Prior to Royal Buying Group, Porter worked for DCT Inc., a multi-unit operator of fast food and c-store outlets. Porter started her career in the c-store channel as a field consultant with 7-Eleven.

Based in Lisle, Ill., RBG is a national organization dedicated to maximizing sales and profitability of c-stores, petroleum locations, college book stores, truckstops/travel plaza, auto repair facilities, drug stores, tobacco outlets and liquor stores. Its core service capabilities include negotiating with regional and national suppliers for sales and marketing programs and providing category management, marketing support and customer service support.

Lake Zurich, Ill.-based Insight Beverages manufactures and distributes cappuccino, hot chocolate, frozen cappuccino, barista products, fruit smoothies, frozen granitas, tea products and iced coffee for a broad spectrum of companies in foodservice, including beverage manufacturers, food and beverage distributors, coffee roasters and restaurant chains.
