Sandwich Shop to Open in Rhode Island

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops will make its Rhode Island debut in the city of Providence in March 2006.
The Champaign, Ill.-based sandwich concept has signed a franchise agreement with Rhode Island natives Eric Lewis and David Faraone. The restaurant will be located near Johnson & Wales University.
The store will be managed by Lewis, who has spent the past 12 years in the military and also has experience in the restaurant industry.
The store, which will be open seven days a [image-nocss] week, will offer catering, delivery to the surrounding area and will accept all major credit cards. Lewis plans to hire 15 employees.
Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwich Shops was founded in 1983 by 19-year-old Jimmy John Liautaud in a converted garage in Charleston, Ill. In 22 years, the company has grown to more than 335 corporate and franchised locations in more than 34 states and two countries.
