BATON ROUGE, La. -- Community Coffee Company, a major U.S. family-owned and operated retail coffee brand, has made key organizational promotions, including David Belanger assuming the position of president and chief executive officer.

Belanger succeeds Matt Saurage, who has been elected chairman of the board, in turn succeeding Norman Saurage, who served as chairman for the past 26 years.

Matt Saurage, the fourth generation of the Saurage family and great-grandson of the founder, has served as president and CEO since 2005. Norman Saurage will continue to serve on the board as a director, providing guidance and valuable insight he has acquired over the past 60 years with the company.

Belanger has been with Community Coffee since 1998 and rapidly advanced from general manager of operations to senior vice president and most recently chief operating officer.

Also, Annette Vaccaro has been promoted to senior vice president and will continue to serve as the company's treasurer and chief financial officer, having assumed these responsibilities in 2004. She has more than 14 years of experience in the company's finance, risk management, information systems and human resources areas, and she will oversee the multi-year expansion plan of the company's roasting facility in Port Allen.

Danny Hebert, who joined the company in 1990 as a sales representative, has been promoted to vice president of human resources. He has been overseeing the company's recruiting, training, development and employee services since he was appointed human resources director in 2009.

"We are fortunate to have exceptional talent and true leaders in our management team. These are the people who set high expectations for our talent quality, performance and faithfulness to our core values," said Matt Saurage. "They possess the skills and character that are essential to our success."

Community Coffee has sold premium quality coffee in Louisiana since Henry Norman "Cap" Saurage began serving coffee out of his country store in 1919. Made from 100% Arabica coffee beans, Community coffee can be found in grocery and convenience stores, offices, hotels and many of the best restaurants throughout the South.
