6 Cities to Test Dr Pepper 10
10-calorie drink aimed at men 25 to 34

PLANO, Texas -- Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. is testing Dr Pepper 10, its new 10-calorie-per-serving drink aimed at men aged 25 to 34, in six cities--Austin, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Denver; Des Moines, Iowa; Kansas City; and San Antonio, Texas, according to a report by The Des Moines Register.
"It's got a blend of sweeteners and a little bit of sugar," Dr Pepper Snapple Group executive Dave Fleming told the newspaper. "It delivers that mouth feel...that full regular taste. The experience we heard from these males is that some diet [soft drinks] have a thin [image-nocss] taste to them."
The product is made with high-fructose corn syrup, acesulfame potassium (Ace-K) and aspartame, whereas Diet Dr Pepper is made sweetened with just aspartame, said the report.
Soft drink competitors PepsiCo and Coca-Cola Company also sell low-calorie products made with a blend of sweeteners--Pepsi One has one calorie and Coke Zero has zero calories.
During the week of April 11, a mobile "man cave" will make its way to Des Moines. Although its exact route is to be determined, Dr Pepper will identify "points of testosterone" for its tour stops, Fleming said.
Dr Pepper 10 is currently available at select Des Moines HyVee, Fareway, Dahl's, Walmart, Target, Casey's General Stores, Kum & Go, Quik Trip and Git N Go stores.
One Casey's General Stores location in Des Moines is selling 20-ounce bottles for $1.74, the Register said.
