New Pennsylvania Kwik Stop store caters to tobacco lovers
WYOMISSING, Pa. -- The Kwik Stop convenience store that just opened in Wyomissing, Pa., is "tiny," according to an article in The Reading Eagle, but it holds quite a bit when it comes to tobacco.
The store sells hookah products, 60 to 70 types of cigars in a large humidor and roll-your-own (RYO) cigarette supplies--in addition to the cold drinks, ice cream, snack foods, candy, magazines, lottery tickets and cigarettes it carries.
The store is the second owned by brothers Dinesh and Kamlesh Prohit and their friends Mehak Sharma and Dev Oriya, with the first [image-nocss] being in Honey Brook, Pa.
"This is not your average convenience store," Dinesh told the newspaper. "It is small, so we have to utilize all of the space we have. We try to carry a little of everything and give customers what they want."
He added, "Our large selection of tobacco products set us apart at our Honey Brook store and really helped to make it a success."
Dinesh said that RYO had become popular for smokers because of the high price of cigarettes. Hookah supplies also have been popular. "Some people really like the flavor of hookah, but hookah lounges are for young adults," he told the paper. "Older people who like the flavor can now enjoy smoking hookah at home."
According to the article, the four partners plan on opening a third store when a good location becomes available. "After three stores, we hope to make Kwik Stop a franchise business," Dinesh told the Eagle.
