Retailer helping Fayetteville/Fort Bragg military families

RESEARCH TRIANGLE, N.C. -- Convenience retailer Short Stop Food Marts has teamed up with Support U.S. Armed Forces to raise support for families of military personnel currently deployed around the globe.

"This is yet another wonderful opportunity to partner with North Carolina's premier convenience store chain to support our U.S military families," said Neal Clark, founder of Support U.S. Armed Forces.

"As with all our partners, Short Stop cares deeply about those whose job it is to keep our nation free and secure. Moreover, this was a fundraiser that is designed for the sole purpose of supporting those military families within the Fort Bragg community. All proceeds that were generated through this fundraiser will assist in providing 400-plus welcome home support packages to our local military families," he added.

"We are proud to partner with Support U.S. Armed Forces and fully share in their vision and commitment to aid the families of our U.S servicemen and women in the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg community," said Mary Morketter, vice president of Short Stop Food Marts.

"At this point in time, when our ongoing military efforts seemingly take a back seat to the economic and political news of the day, we here at Short Stop never forget that its our friends, neighbors and family members in uniform that allow us all to live under a precious blanket of Freedom. It's with this in mind that we happily participated in this fundraiser with our partners at Support U.S. Armed Forces," he said.

Support U.S. Armed Forces is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable organization whose mission is to support the troops by providing morale, welfare and encouragement to U.S. men and women in uniform. Since its inception in 2009, Support U.S. Armed Forces has provided more than 30,000 care packages to our troops and their families.
