Kwik Trip clerks don dresses to promote new foodservice offering

SHAWANO, Wis. -- Customers at a Shawano, Wis., Kwik Trip convenience store wanted to see if Rick and Jeremy would keep their bet. They did, and anyone who visited the store Thursday got get their gasoline pumped by Rachel or Josephine, said the Shawano Leader.

Rick (Rachel) Beattie and Jeremy (Josephine) Wood wore dresses after agreed to so if 200 food products were sold on Wednesday. Originally Rick, who normally works in Appleton, had the amount at 500, but he changed it when he realized it was a bit too high.

We're trying to [image-nocss] inform our customers that we're a foodservice company in addition to gasoline, Beattie told the newspaper.

Kwik Trip will soon be offering pizzas in addition to other food items that are prepared at the main commissary in LaCrosss, Wis., where the chain is headquartered.

Early Thursday morning, Beattie, a certified assistant store leader, was in his dress helping customers at the counter or pumping gasoline. They are loving it, he said. I'm getting some strange looks. It's all in fun.

Wood has been with Kwik Trip for just three months, according to the report. He said his family and friends have all come in to laugh and take pictures. It's for a good cause, Wood told the paper.
