More than 30,000 healthier product choices have been made available to consumers between 2002 and 2013, according to the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA). The new choices represent an additional 10,000 in the past 4 years alone.

Perhaps showing the growing acceptance of fresh foods in c-stores, nonsliced luncheon-meat sales improved while sliced meats declined. Overall unit sales of luncheon meats were down 1.4% for the 52 weeks ending Aug. 10, 2014, per IRI, a healthy change from 2013's 10.5% drop.
