Couche-Tard East Selects Trintech's ReconNET
Will automate funds reconciliation, monitor transactional risk, more

LAVAL, Quebec -- Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.’s Eastern Division has selected Trintech Group Plc’s ReconNET to automate funds reconciliation processes, monitor transactional risk and optimize the resolution and reporting of exceptions.

The selection of ReconNET is part of an expansion; Couche-Tard’s Circle K divisions in Arizona and Mac’s Convenience Stores in Ohio currently use the reconciliation system.

“We required an effective reconciliation solution that could scale to meet our needs, as well as allow us to independently tailor it to disparate reconciliation processes,” said Marcel Jacques, IT development manager for Couche-Tard Eastern Division. “ReconNET will provide us with a great deal of autonomy. We’ll be able to expand the use of the system throughout the division to streamline reconciliation processes and increase efficiencies.”

Through their collaborative approach with various internal business practices, Eastern Division IT developers will fully automate the reconciliation of thousands of accounts, track related exceptions more efficiently and potentially reduce operational risk, the tech firm said.

John Harte, executive vice president and general manager for Trintech, said Couche-Tard joins other convenience retail clients, including 7-Eleven, Murphy Oil and Valero.

Trintech Group, Addison, Texas, is a provider of integrated financial governance, transaction risk management and compliance solutions for commercial, financial and healthcare markets worldwide.

Laval, Quebec-based Couche-Tard currently operates a network of 5,360 convenience stores, 3,308 of which include motor fuel dispensing, located in nine large geographic markets, including six in the United States covering 27 states and three in Canada covering six provinces. The Eastern Canada Division has 570 corporate stores and 392 affiliated stores.
