More Haiti Relief from Industry
Circle K, NOCO, Altadis add donations to industry disaster relief response
  - ADVERTISEMENT -
CORONA, Calif. -- The convenience/petroleum industry continues to provide donations for the earthquake relief efforts in Haiti. The West Coast division of Circle K, including company-operated sites and participating franchise locations, has announced an event to raise funds in an effort to help victims of the quake. All proceeds from coffee sales sold from midnight Jan. 22, 2010, through midnight Jan. 23, 2010, will be donated entirely to the American Red Cross, earmarked for the Haiti Disaster Relief Fund.

In addition to this fund raising event, Circle K's West Coast division, Corona, Calif., is reaching out to its supply partners, business associates, customers and employees alike, asking for donations towards this worthy cause. Company-operated Circle K Stores within California, Oregon and Washington will be collecting donations and encouraging the public to join in these efforts to help the Haitian people.

Circle K Stores will be accepting cash and check donations through Feb. 7, 2010.

And NOCO Express Stores has partnered with the National Payment Card Association, the processor of the NOCO Friends & Family Club Card with EZ Pay, to give customers an opportunity to support the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Haiti. For every gasoline purchase customers make with their NOCO Friends & Family Club Card with EZ Pay, January 20-22, NOCO Express and the National Payment Card Association will donate 100% of the profits from their processing fees to benefit the American Red Cross' relief efforts in Haiti.

Tonawanda, N.Y.-based NOCO operates more than 30 NOCO Express service stations and convenience stores throughout Western New York.

And the Montecristo Relief Organization of tobacco company Altadis USA, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., is immediately donating $25,000 to Food For the Poor, a group already on the ground in Haiti providing vital assistance. Food For the Poor is responding to this terrible tragedy by supplying desperately needed nonperishable food and water to the earthquake victims immediately and will continue to provide ongoing aid and relief for rebuilding efforts. In addition, the Montecristo Relief Organization will match dollar for dollar the first $125,000 in contributions made by Altadis USA employees, customers, consumers and vendors. The Montecristo Relief Organization will match funds donated by February 15th.
