Earth Biofuels Evolves
Renamed as Evolution Fuels, company forms truckstop, fuel station subsidiaries
  - ADVERTISEMENT -
DALLAS -- Evolution Fuels Inc. has announced that it has formed two new wholly owned subsidiaries to carry out its strategy of raising market awareness of renewable fuels. Phase 1 of this multi-part strategy to ultimately help achieve energy independence is to build a grassroots awareness of the availability of renewable fuels at the pump through the creation of renewable fuel depots, such as Willie Nelson's Willie's Place Truck Stop in the Hillsboro, Texas, area, which is partly owned by the company.

One subsidiary, Legends Travel Centers, will hold the company's ownership in the Willie's Place Truck Stop near Hillsboro and will work to create similarly themed truckstops in the southwestern and southeastern regions of the United States.

The truckstops will offer varying blends of biodiesel to truckers and fleet operators, as well as country music star memorabilia and souvenirs, trucker amenities and dining facilities. By combining renewable fuels at the pump with a "destination travel experience," the company's management said that it believes multiple markets segments will be served, driving significant traffic and sales.

The second subsidiary, Evolution Fuel Plazas, will hold urban and suburban fuel station/convenience store facilities that will offer blends of ethanol, as well as petroleum fuel to passenger vehicle drivers. This subsidiary intends to provide ethanol blends of 15% up to 85%.

Evolution Fuels' chief operating officer Tim Harrington said, "Over the next several weeks, we will be working to finalize sites for the initial fuel stations and truckstops. We are in the process of establishing fuel supply and pump arrangements for the blended fuels."

The company is currently evaluating potential locations for its fuel station subsidiary and will pursue potential partners for the acquisition or construction of additional truckstop facilities. The company endeavors to develop retail renewable fuel stations and truck stops modeled after the Willie's Place Truck Stop in Carl's Corner, Texas, and to supply biodiesel to these retail locations from its biodiesel production facility located in Durant, Okla.
