PrairieFire Teams Up With Saint Joe Distributing
Partnership will allow retailers to remodel coffee bars

WICHITA, Kansas -- PrairieFire Coffee Roasters has announced a new partnership with Saint Joe Distributing, a regional convenience store product and service provider. This partnership has the potential to place PrairieFire Coffee in an additional 800 convenience stores in the Midwest, the companies said.

PrairieFire Coffee Roasters—the brand formerly marketed under the names Prestige Coffee, Coffee Time, and Riffel's Coffee—has been a leading coffee service provider for offices, c-stores and restaurants in the Midwest since 1962. Headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, the company currently services customers in eight states: Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Colorado, Arkansas and South Dakota.

"By teaming up with Saint Joe Distributing, it is possible for the PrairieFire Coffee brand to reach many new convenience store customers within our current trade area, as well as extend our foot-print to Iowa and Illinois," said Jeff Deitchler, general manager of PrairieFire Coffee Roasters.

With this program, Saint Joe Distributing will remodel their customers' coffee bars and use the new PrairieFire logo and graphics to market PrairieFire brand coffee and cappuccino products. It also lets a c-store operator choose whether he or she wants to get his or her PrairieFire Coffee delivered directly by PrairieFire, or through Saint Joe, the wholesaler.

Saint Joe Distributing, founded by R. K. Dickens Sr. in 1949, began as The St. Joseph Tobacco Co. Four generations of the Dickens family have been instrumental to the company's tremendous growth over the years. In the 1980s, R. K. Dickens Jr. led the company's transition in to full-line c-store distribution. In 1999, the business name was changed to Saint Joe Distributing. In 2001, the company moved to a 130,000-square-foot warehouse facility in St. Joseph, Mo. It now has four additional satellite distribution centers.

Saint Joe Distributing owner Brian Dickens, whose company's service area covers Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois and Arkansas, said that through the partnership, "we gain an additional product line to offer and PrairieFire benefits from our distribution network and customer relationships."
