OAKDALE, Calif. -- Sconza Candy announced the appointment of Glen Flook as president and COO of the company. Sconza, a family owned confectionery company, has been in business since 1939 and is known for its premium chocolate panned confections, toffee nuts and novelty jawbreakers.
Flook comes to Sconza with an extensive background in sales, operations, product innovation and brand development. Most recently, Flook was COO of Dale and Thomas Popcorn, where he was responsible for the Popcorn Indiana brand as it became one of the fastest-growing snack food brands at wholesale in 2008.
Previously, he was vice president at the Inventure Group, a $100 million food marketer and manufacturer, where he directed the company's strategic growth of food products, including licensed brands such as Cinnabon, Panda Express and TGIFriday's. In addition, he has held long time operations management positions at Frito Lay and Dial Corp.
"We are proud to have Glen join our team at Sconza," said Jim Sconza, CEO. "His entrepreneurial background and Fortune 100 experience creates the perfect combination to take our company to the next level of success."
Flook will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the company, as well as its strategic direction. Sconza Candy recently relocated to a 300,000-square-foot plant in Oakdale, Calif.
