Hostile bid for sweets maker rejected

NORTHFIELD, Ill. -- The North American food giant Kraft Foods Inc. on Monday repeated the $16.4 billion cash and shares terms of its original offer for Cadbury plc, which the candy maker rejected two months ago, and took its bid, now worth 4% less after a fall in Kraft shares, directly to Cadbury shareholders, said Reuters. Cadbury lost no time rejecting the "derisory offer," as chairman Roger Carr termed it.

Ontario retailer stocking product in it 47 stores

OTTAWA, Ont. -- RyLo Products, owner and manufacturer of the Revive Energy Mints brand, has announced that Revive Energy Mints can now be found in Quickie Convenience Stores. Revive Energy Mints are a new product in the energy supplement market, offering consumers the same amount of energy as the leading energy drink, the company said.

Discussions in preliminary stages; no discussion of financial specifics

HERSHEY, PA. -- U.S. chocolate giant Hershey Co. has been in high-level talks with Italian chocolate maker Ferrero Spa to possibly craft a rival joint bid to Kraft Foods Inc.'s $16.7 billion offer for Cadbury PLC, according to people familiar with the matter, said The Wall Street Journal.
